Decompressing the Template Folder
The template files are compressed as SIT files for the Mac or ZIP files for the PC. You will need to decompress and extract all the files before you open and edit the template in your application.
| 1. |
Download the template file to your computer. |
| 2. |
Extract the files:
For Mac OS X: Double-click the compressed file. It will automatically extract the folder and its content.
For PC Windows XP: Right-click the compressed file, select Extract All...
Follow the on-screen instructions to extract all files to the desired location on your computer.
|
| 3. |
Navigate to where you extracted the template folder, open the application file and begin customizing your layout. |
If you are using an older operating system, you can download decompression utilities from the following websites:
To download WinZip®, for the PC, visit: http://www.winzip.com
To download Stuffit Expander®, for the Mac visit: http://www.stuffit.com

Editing Linked and Embedded Graphic Files
|
|
For QuarkXPress, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe PageMaker
High resolution graphic files are linked in the layout file. Keep the graphic files with the layout file in the same folder. The layout file may require that you reconnect the graphic links. Follow instructions from your software application for updating modified or missing links. The linked photos and artwork can be moved, rotated, scaled or cropped in the layout application. To directly edit clip art and shapes (vector images) requires the use of graphic editing software such as Adobe Illustrator. To edit photos (raster images) requires the use of image editing software such as Adobe Photoshop.
For Microsoft Publisher, Microsoft Word, Adobe Illustrator and CorelDRAW
High resolution graphic files are embedded in the layout files. Clip art and shapes (vector images) are directly editable within the application. To edit photos (raster images) requires the use of image editing software such as Adobe Photoshop.
